Spotify overrated?

I’ve recently subscribed my family for the second time to (the highly-rated) Spotify. But I’m seriously disappointed. It lacks basic features that both Apple Music and Amazon Music (surprise surprise) has. The IOS app is a sh_tshow (What’s with the Michelle Obama podcast section it keeps forcing on me?). TBH, it compares better to the bottom feeders (Youtube Music) than the cream (Apple Music). Am I missing something?
